Tynya Beverly
Tynya R. Beverly is a visionary Author, Poet, and Staff Minister with the Center for Spiritual Awareness in West Sacramento. Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, Tynya brought her transformative energy to Sacramento in 1991, where she has become a beacon of hope, healing, and empowerment in her community.
As the Project Director for the African American Suicide Prevention Project, The Living Room, Tynya is relentless in her mission to uplift mental health and well-being. Her passion for justice extends to the land itself—she is a fierce Food Justice Warrior, growing and sharing fresh, nourishing food with underserved communities. Tynya lives by the belief that true healing begins with the food we eat, championing the power of nutrition to restore both mind and body.
Tynya’s work as a Compassion Ambassador for West Sacramento reflects her unwavering commitment to building bridges of empathy and understanding. As a Community Facilitator for Safe Black Space, she creates sacred spaces for healing and connection within Black communities.
With decades of expertise in Personal and Organizational Development, she retired as the Chief Learning Officer for the State of California, following 30 years of distinguished service in strategic planning, workforce development, and transformational leadership.
A dynamic leader in spiritual and personal growth, Tynya specializes in curating Spiritual Retreats, Personal Development Workshops, and Executive Coaching. She co-founded Wizdom Works, a women's empowerment group that brings forth the transformative Woman Spirit Rising Retreats. As a co-founder of The Real Cream Cafe, a Social Justice Theatre Company, she weaves storytelling, consciousness-raising, and creative activism into powerful performances that inspire change.
At the heart of Tynya’s work is a deep and abiding belief in the power of collective action to transform our world. Her rallying cry, “We are the ones we have been waiting for!” invites us all to rise together in love, truth, and unity, raising the vibration of the planet one act of kindness at a time.
