Feeling stuck: What are you hanging on to?
Have you ever had feelings of being overwhelmed and paralyzed? I like to call it being “stuck.” Stuck because you can’t move forward and most certainly can’t go back. Is there stagnation in your heart or mind? If so, then that is where you want to start the process of getting unstuck.
Feeling stuck is a call for action. Time to take stock of your life. Ask yourself the following questions:
What are you hanging on to?
What do you need to let go of?
What should you be doing now?
Taking time for introspection will provide you with the answers you need to move forward.
Ask a friend what they see. They may be able to provide you with a different perspective of your world. Quite often, those around us see things we can’t or won’t begin to see. Be willing to listen with an open mind. Be open to hearing a truth which may be different from you own. If there is resistance, this a clear sign that it is time to left go of whatever or whomever you are holding on to. Where there is resistance there is always a call for attention. Be still and listen. The answers lie within you.
In all of this remember to be kind to yourself. Be thankful you have the awareness to begin the work of getting unstuck. Think of it as just another life process, a necessary step on the journey. We all need to make adjustments from time to time. Determine how you need to let go to create space in your life. New cannot arrive if old continues occupying space.
Letting go allows new to come in. We are all exactly where we need to be. Be at peace with that.
Namaste!
